Terms

The short version: pay monthly or yearly, stop whenever you like from Settings, and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.

What you are paying for

userdrift reads the code of an app you connect, joins it to the analytics that app already collects, and shows you where people stop. Your plan sets how many apps you may connect. Everything else is the same on every plan: the same reading, the same findings, the same numbers.

There is no free tier and no trial. Access requires a paid subscription.

Stopping

Open Settings and press the billing button. It takes you to your account with our payments provider, where cancelling is two clicks. There is no notice period, no retention call, and nothing to email us about first.

When you cancel, access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not cut you off the moment you press it, and we do not charge you again after. Payments taken before you cancel are not returned.

Payment is taken by Polar, who are the merchant on your receipt and who handle the card. We never see or hold card details.

What we promise

  • We read your code and never change it. The only thing we ever write to GitHub is a comment on a commit or a pull request, when a change touches a screen people reach; we never alter a file, a branch or a setting.
  • We tell you how every number was worked out, beside the number, including when a count is too small to draw a conclusion from.
  • We would rather show you nothing than show you something we cannot stand behind.
  • We will not sell your data, and there is nobody to sell it to who would want it.

What we do not promise

Findings are worked out from your code and your traffic. They are evidence to look at, not instructions to follow, and the suggestion on a finding is phrased as a question because we do not know your business, your constraints, or the conversation already happening about that screen. Deciding what to change is yours.

We compare how many people reached one screen against how many reached the next. We do not follow one person from screen to screen, and we say so on every finding that rests on it. Read it as what it is.

This is a young product and it will occasionally be wrong or unavailable. When it is, tell us and we will fix it. We do not offer a service level guarantee, and we will not pretend to one.

What we ask of you

  • Connect code you have the right to connect. If it belongs to a client or an employer, get their agreement first.
  • Keep your sign-in to yourself. Anybody who can reach your email can reach your workspace.
  • Do not try to break it, overload it, or take it apart to build a copy. If you are curious about how something works, ask us and we will probably just tell you.

If an account is used to attack the service or somebody else, we will close it. That is the only reason we would close an account without being asked to.

If something goes wrong between us

Write to hello@userdrift.com first, and we will try to sort it out properly. If that fails, these terms are governed by the laws of India and its courts.

Nothing here takes away a right you have under the consumer law where you live. Where the two disagree, that law wins.

Changes to these terms

If these change in a way that affects what you are paying for or what you may do, we will email you before it takes effect. If you would rather not accept the change, you can cancel and keep access to the end of the period you have already paid for.
